2016 Atlanta Tourette Conference and Casino Night Huge Success!

The 2016 Atlanta Tourette Syndrome Conference/Casino Night was a huge success with 140 people attending the conference and 100 people attending the Casino Night.

Conference sessions were available for parents of kids with TS, adults with TS and children who have TS.

Sheila Rogers DeMare was one of the keynote speakers as she spoke about integrative medicines.  Elaine Taylor-Klaus was the second keynote speaker on the topic of Parental Coaching.

Breakout sessions were taking place during the day focusing on newly diagnosed families, instructional strategies in the classroom, ways the food you eat impact the way we live, oils and a whole food approach, CBIT, and a chance for parents to discuss life at home.

The adults with TS sessions were led by Darin Bush and included a chance for participants to get to know each other via improv and discussions.  Adults attended various breakout sessions they were interested in during the day.

The kids enjoyed a fun filled day hearing from Jaylen Arnold and his Bullying No Way! Tour.  Then met ventriloquist Kellie Haines and her puppets. They then went on to create their own puppets.  Dylan Brady stole the show and played his guitar and sang for the kids.  To finish the day the kids learned about the Tourette Association of America’s Ambassador program. This was a day for the kids to see they were not alone in their quest to live life with TS.

The Saturday Casino Night was a hit as many participants from the conference joined local guests for the event.  Brad spoke about the Foundation and the difference we have been making in the TS community.  Dylan Brady highlighted the night as he played several songs for the group.  Then dinner was served and the guests gambled the night away enjoying blackjack, roulette, Texas Holdem’, and craps.  Raffle tickets were earned and prizes were given out.  Between the silent auction, sponsors and the actual event, we raised some good funds to continue supporting kids with TS across the United States.
